Abbey Close Area Estate Action Day

On Tuesday 20th May, we held an Estate Action Day on the Abbey Close area of Radcliffe. The event provided tenants with access to free skips for disposing of rubbish, and litter-picking across the estate.

In total, 4.24 tonnes of waste was collected, contributing to a cleaner environment for the community. We engaged with 60 tenants and completed 2 Tenant Satisfaction surveys. These surveys are key to understanding your views on our services and identifying areas where we can improve.

Here are some quotes we received on the day from local tenants:

“Great to see all the staff helping the estate to look better.”

“I love living here.”

“It was a good day from the clearing up, to the planting of the herb planter, and the input of the Housing team.”

“I feel things are better now we are under Bury Council.”

We'd like to say a huge thank you to the 32 people who volunteered on the day! This included Housing staff, Councillors, Waste Management, Live Well Service, a Bury College student on work placement, GGI Contractors and volunteers from Incredible Edible Radcliffe and Growing Together Radcliffe Centre.

We'll be running more Estate Actions Days on:

  • Fountain Place Area, Whitefield, on Thursday 12th June, 11am - 2pm
  • Topping Fold Estate, Bury, on Tuesday 29th July, 11am - 2pm
