A map of the 5 neighbourhoods of Bury and who works in each area.

The Council's Integrated model is based on 5 neighbourhoods - North, East, West & Radcliffe, Whitefield and Prestwich.

Each neighbourhood has a Housing Manager and between 5-7 Housing Officers. Housing Officers are responsible for the management of the tenancies in their patch, how the properties are being looked after, tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour, disputes, lettings, tenancy management and conducting regular walkabouts. The Neighbourhood Management Teams are an integral part of a multi-agency approach and meet regularly with colleagues from internal and external partner agencies.

There are 2 Caretakers for each neighbourhood who are responsible for specific buildings and estates and one of their prime responsibilities is to ensure that cleaning standards are met. There are also 2 Cleaners who are responsible for cleaning the communal areas of 274 blocks across the 5 neighbourhoods.

There are 3 Tenant Engagement Officers working throughout the 5 neighbourhoods. They are responsible for tenant consultation, supporting tenant and resident associations and listening to the Tenants Voice from individuals and unrepresented groups. They provide training, applications for funding and organise community events.

There are 2 Maintenance Managers, one for the North and one for the South of the Borough. They are responsible for managing the day-to-day repairs service for Council properties in their respective areas.

We have an Enforcement Team who support the Neighbourhood Teams with progression of enforcement actions through the courts e.g. anti-social behaviour, tenancy breaches and no access to properties.

The Extra Care and Sheltered Housing Schemes are managed by the Independent Living Team. Their responsibilities include, testing fire alarms and emergency lighting, person-centred fire risk assessments, pull cord testing, legionella testing and health and safety walkabouts.
