When you make an application to the UK Border Agency for entry clearance into the United Kingdom, you may be requested to 'obtain an independent assessment of the number of rooms and occupants of the proposed accommodation'.

The Urban Renewal team provide Immigration Inspections at a cost £108.70 (payable when submitting the form).

To request an Immigration Inspection please complete the below form.

In order to complete the online form you will need the following details for each person entering the UK:

  • Immigration number
  • Passport number
  • Date of birth

You will also need to provide details of all the household occupants, including date of birth.

What happens at the Immigration Inspection?

An officer from the Urban Renewal team will inspect the property to ensure that it is free from serious hazards and measure the size of the rooms to ensure that they meet the minimum standards as required by the Housing Act 1985 (as amended) and Part 1 of the Housing Act 2004. If the property meets the required standards then we will issue documentation that can be used as part of a visa application.

How soon can you carry out an Immigration Inspection?

Once you have completed the application to determine suitability of accommodation we will normally carry out the inspection within 5 working days.

How soon after the Immigration Inspection can I have the paperwork?

Once you have passed the Immigration Inspection the paperwork will be available within a maximum of 5 working days.
