Township Forums

There are six Township Forums which meet at local venues throughout the borough. They are made up of all the councillors representing the area and an advisory group of local representatives from voluntary organisations and community groups.

They meet four times a year. All meetings are open to local residents who can come along to listen, get involved and express their views. Discussions at the forums are fed back to the council for appropriate action. The forums normally involve some formal presentations relevant to local residents, and there is always the opportunity for attendees to ask the forum members questions about issues they are interested in.

Township Forums are also an opportunity for local groups to get funding for projects through Community Funding schemes.

More information about how Township Forums are run is available in the Operating Framework document below.
