If you're interested in self or custom building a property in the borough of Bury, this register will help you. Registering gives us an indication of the level of demand for self or custom build in the borough and helps us to work to identify suitable sites for development.
Self build is where you are directly involved in organising the design and construction of your new property. Custom build usually involves working with a specialist developer.
To be eligible for the register, you must be:
- over the age of 18
- a British citizen or national of a European Economic Area state or a national of Switzerland.
If you're applying on behalf of an association, you'll need to submit the following details for each member of the association:
- name and address
- date of birth
- nationality of each member.
Completing the online registration enables the Council to take account of the level of demand for self or custom build when carrying out planning, housing, land disposal and regeneration functions.
