Since the coronavirus outbreak a significant increase in coronavirus / Covid-19 related cyber-crime has been seen which means it is more important than ever to do everything we can to stay safe.
Please be vigilant at all times to help guard yourself against criminals using publicity around coronavirus as a chance to target you with fraudulent emails, phone calls, texts, messages or social media posts.
- Stop: Taking a moment to stop and think before parting with your money or information could keep you safe.
- Challenge: Could it be fake? It's ok to reject, refuse or ignore any requests. Only criminals will try to rush or panic you.
- Protect: Contact you bank immediately if you think you've fallen for a scam and report it to Action Fraud.
