Important information: Services during the Covid 19 situation
Our library team are working hard to implement a phased reopening of libraries as soon as we can. Not all of our services will be available and we will look a little different when we do reopen. A key priority will be making sure that a safe environment is created for you and our library staff.
Update 7 August: Introduction of the Order and Collect Service at Bury Library.
From Tuesday 11 August library customers are able to:-
- order books online or
- order books by telephoning the library on 0161 253 5872 from 10am to 12noon and 1pm to 4pm
Customers who wish to order online can do so via our Order and Collect page (available from 10am, Tuesday 11 August).
Library staff will process the orders and customers will be contacted when the order is ready to be collected at a specific time slot.
Please note that items will be available for collection for 2 weeks and if not collected they will be returned to stock.
From Thursday 13 August ordered books can be collected at the following times. You will be given a collection time by library staff please return any existing books on loan in the time slot allocated to you:-
- Tuesdays from 1pm to 4pm
- Wednesdays from 1pm to 4pm
- Thursdays from 1pm to 4pm
- Fridays from 1pm to 4pm
From Friday 28 August people will be able to return books from 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Friday. There will be a box outside the library during those hours.
What's the situation with my current loans, overdue charges, and reservation pick-up times?
Do not worry about anything you have borrowed from us, we have dropped all overdue charges and we will be continuing to monitor due dates and extending loan periods and reservation pick-up times whilst we are closed.
What's happening with customer requests for books to purchase?
We're sorry but we're unable to order any new books until the libraries re-open fully. Please do check if the book you want is available via our Borrowbox eBooks and eAudiobooks service.
What's happening with the home delivery service?
Sadly we're unable to resume delivering to our customers at the moment. We will be contacting customers again about the restart of the service.
