Polling district and polling places statutory review

The Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013 requires a polling district and polling places review to take place in the period of 16 months from 1 October 2018.

This review will ensure that any relevant changes to polling districts can be made to the Register of Electors which will be published on 1 December 2019.

Notice of Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places 2019

Notice is hereby given that Bury Council is to carry out a review of polling districts and polling places within the Bury Council area in accordance with Section 18 (C) 1 of the Representation of the People Act 1983.

The Returning Officer will make comment on proposed polling stations.

Electors within the authority or within a UK Parliamentary constituency which has any part in the authority may make a representation.

The Council would welcome any person or body with expertise in access for persons with any type of disability to make a representation or to comment on the authority's proposals.

Persons or bodies making representations should, if possible, give alternative venues that may be used as polling places.

The draft proposals are now published (see below) and will be submitted to Full Council on Wednesday 27 November 2019.

Completion of the review

Once a decision has been made, details of the new polling districts and polling places will be made available at the Council offices and on the Council's website. The agreed proposals will be included in the electoral register when published on Sunday 1 December 2019.
