SmokeFree Summer - join in the fun!
Introducing Smokefree Summer 2018
Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership is aiming to reduce the number of smokers in our city-region by a third by 2021, and is working on a number of initiatives in support of this.
Findings from a recent region-wide consultation suggest that more than four out of five people in Greater Manchester would support compulsory smokefree places such as playgrounds, areas close to schools and nurseries, and hospital grounds. As a taster for this and to get people thinking more about the benefits of smokefree outdoor spaces, the Smokefree Summer 2018 initiative has been created.

This summer, free family events right across Greater Manchester are being designated smokefree so people can enjoy the benefits of a smokefree outdoors. Our Smokefree Summer comes as the city-region considers creating more permanent smokefree outdoor spaces.
In Bury, the annual Glaston-bury music festival will be a SmokeFree event. The music festival will be held in the town centre on Bank Holiday Monday 27 August in aid of Bury Hospice and other local causes.
