  • Leave your bins out with the handles facing the road.
  • Make sure your waste fits inside your bins with the lids fully closed. We will not take extra bags of waste.
  • Only recycle the items that we ask you to in the right bin.
  • Park your vehicles where they will not obstruct our collection vehicles.
  • Return your bins back to your property as soon as possible after we have emptied them.
  • Report a missed collection by 1pm the next working day.

Do you have extra household waste?

If you live in the borough of Bury you can take your extra rubbish and recycling to any household waste recycling centre in Greater Manchester.  The centres are open every day (except on 25 December and 1 January) from 8am to 6pm. Local centres are at: Every Street in Bury (0161 762 4810); Cemetery Road in Radcliffe (0161 723 5249); and Lumns Lane in Salford (0161 794 8832).

After Christmas, what should I do with my real tree?

Remove all decorations, lights and the wooden base, then chop it up so it fits inside your brown bin with the lid fully closed. Or you can take it to a recycling centre - see above for details.
