Advice and information centres

You can get advice and information about Council services from the following offices. No appointments are necessary and you can use our public access computers or ask a member of staff for assistance.  All the offices are accessible for wheelchair users and hearing loops are available.

To avoid having to send important documents through the post you can:

  • hand in completed application forms
  • provide evidence documents - which will be scanned and returned to you


Town Hall, Knowsley Street, Bury, BL9 0SW.

Open: Monday to Friday 8.45am to 5pm.

Additional services:

  • Public access computers with internet connections
  • Freephones to council services and StepChange debt charity
  • Staff on hand to help complete on line application forms
  • Disabled parking available on Knowsley Street, outside the Town Hall
  • Cash office available for all types of payments (open 9am to 4.30pm)


Longfield Centre, Prestwich, M25 1AY.

Open: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10am to 4pm, Thursday 12.30pm to 4pm

  • Disabled parking available on Longfield Centre car park
  • Cash office for all types of payments
