Next steps

Once the consultation period ends, feedback will be reviewed and considered, and the draft Regeneration Framework will be updated. Following this, the revised document is due to be reviewed by Bury Council’s Cabinet in early 2024.

As each planning application comes forward there will be further opportunities to talk about details of individual development within the Regeneration Framework and their impact.

Background information

Bruntwood formed a joint venture with Bury Council in 2022, to acquire the Mill Gate shopping centre as part of a wider regeneration plan. The public consultation follows on from the launch of Bury Council’s Bury Town Centre Masterplan which outlines ambitious regeneration proposals for the town centre. The purpose of the masterplan is to help Bury adapt and evolve, and most importantly, reflect the future needs of local communities.
