I am the parent/carer of a disabled child. Where can I find suitable childcare?

For many children, specialist groups have been the only option, but with developments in planning, training and experience, more providers are ensuring their services are accessible so children with additional needs can choose opportunities in their local community. Parents/carers should choose their preferred childcare or play provider and contact them directly as early as possible in order to discuss individual requirements - see the link in our Offsite links to the GOV.UK - Disability & Equality Act 2010.

How do I find an inspection report for a childminder or a childcare provider?

You can check the latest inspection report for any Registered Childcare Provider by going on the Ofsted website from our offsite links to the right and searching on the Inspection reports page. For childminders you will need their registration number which you can obtain from the childminder themselves, or by searching the Childcare Search Facility.


I have a childcare complaint or concern. How can I contact Ofsted? Is there any guidance for me to read?
