E-billing

You can receive your council tax bill by e-mail. The information you receive will be the same as the customers who receive a paper bill.

  • No more bills in the post so no delays. You will receive your bill as soon as it's ready
  • It costs less to e-mail your bill
  • We use less paper so it's better for the environment

All the documents included in a paper bill are available on this website.

How to register for e-billing

You can register for e-bills by e-mailing us at counciltax@bury.gov.uk

We need to know your:

  • name,
  • home address,
  • e-mail address,
  • your account reference (the 8 digit number on the front of your bill beginning with a '4')

On line payments

You can pay your council tax on line quickly and easily using a debit or credit card.

Please use our secure on line payment facility.

We will send you an e-mail to confirm you have paid.

(Please note that a charge of 1.3% will be levied on all payment made by credit card)

View your council tax account details on line

The Open Access system allows you to view details of any business rates or council tax accounts that you are responsible for. For those people claiming housing benefit and/or council tax benefit you can see details of your claim, including the amounts awarded.

In order for you to be able to use the system we must issue you with a user name and password. To obtain your user name and password you please email us at counciltax@bury.gov.uk, giving us the following information;

  • Name
  • Address
  • Reference or account number
