Bury Council published its Equality Strategy in April 2012. The Equality Strategy outlines our equality objectives, and provides a framework to ensure that we have due regard for the needs of all of our employees and residents, regardless of their background or circumstances. This will help us to further improve our equality performance and also to ensure that we meet our obligations under the Equality Act 2010, and associated Public Sector Equality Duty.

The Equality Strategy replaces our previous Single Equality Scheme and Comprehensive Equality Policy.
