Bury Library facilities

Bury Library has a lending library and ICT suite. Also within the building you can access the Bury Archives Service with local and family history as well as the Art Gallery and Museum.

The lending library lends books, CDs, videos, DVDs and talking books.

Computer Centre and quiet study room

The Computer Centre has 34 computers, two with scanners attached, and adjustable height desks to accommodate wheelchair users. The computers are free to use, can be booked in advance, provide access to the Internet and the full suite of Microsoft Office applications. Free access is available for up to two hours a day (30 minutes on the 2 PCs with scanners attached) and low cost printing is provided.

Staff are always on hand to provide help and support with any computer issues. Regular, bookable, one-to-one "Get You Started" sessions are also available from our knowledgeable staff on a variety of topics.

The quiet study room accommodates 8 people and is available on a drop in basis.

Council Information Point

Bury Central Library is a Council Information Point - bringing council services closer to home.

Pay and Display parking is available outside the library for up to 2 hours. Other nearby parking facilities, offering longer than 2 hours, are available. Blue Badge holders have unlimited free parking outside the library. Blue Badge holders may park in any of the bays outside the library on Manchester Road, Moss Street and Silver Street but please note that there are some raised bays outside St Marie's Church allowing easier access to the footpath.
