Pennine Care NHS Trust - Joint Committee

Background information

Pennine Care provides mental health and community services to people living in the boroughs of Bury, Oldham and Rochdale. We also provide mental health services in Stockport and Tameside and Glossop, as well as parts of the High Peak, East Lancashire and North Manchester. In April 2013, the Trust began providing adult and children's services in Trafford.. The Trust was established as an NHS Trust in 2002, became the 100th NHS Foundation Trust in 2008, and began providing Community Services in 2011.

It is the role of the Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee for Pennine Care NHS Trust to scrutinise the services provided by the Trust and to contribute to the development of policy.

The Joint Committee is made up of 3 Elected Members from each of the authorities that make up the Pennine Care footprint - the area covered by the Trust. 

Meetings of the Joint Committee are usually held on Thursday mornings at 10.00am and are open to the public. The meeting dates for the municipal year 2013/14 are listed below:

The Joint Committee and Pennine Care NHS Trust have also agreed Working Principles. These Principles set out arrangements relating to administration, responsibilities and procedural matters. 

Work programme / Current projects

A new work programme is agreed by the Joint Committee at the first meeting of each municipal year. The work programme for 2013/14 will appear here shortly.
