Bury Council Control Room
The council offices are open 8.45am - 5pm Monday to Friday. When the offices are closed that is 5pm - 8.45am in an emergency the council can be contacted on 0161-253-6606. This is the control room and they will only deal with emergency issues.
Social Services Emergency Duty Team

Social Services Emergency Duty Team provides cover when the offices are closed, that is they are on duty evenings, overnight, weekends, and Bank and other Public holidays.
The Social Care Emergency Duty Team works to provide support for a variety of people, including,
- Children, young people and families
- Older People
- People with mental health difficulties
- People with physical or sensory disabilities
- People with learning disability
- People with drug, alcohol or other health related problems
- People with housing or accommodation problems
- Somebody fleeing domestic violence
- Asylum seekers
What should you do if you don't have anywhere to stay tonight?
You must contact us straight away on 0161-253-5537 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours you can ring 0161-253-6606. This is the control room and they will only deal with emergency issues.
Security for council premises
The Council has a security force which monitors buildings and grounds, responds to alarm calls. If you wish to report a security problem or suspicious circumstances on or around Council premises or land telephone 0161-253-6606.

Greater Manchester Police can be contacted on 0161-872-5050 or 101 if you need to report a crime, but it is not an emergency.
