Hurst Farm and the Forestry Commission

Hurst Farm was acquired by the Red Rose Forest Trust in 2001 with the aid of Bury Council and Central Government. It was subsequently leased to the Forestry Commission who have developed it for informal recreation use, with new areas of broadleaf tree planting and new paths which link into the Outwood Trail.
