Bury Agricultural Show

Early July brings to Burrs Country Park the annual Agricultural Show organised by the Bury and District Agricultural Society. The traditional-style show is held on Burrs Showground.

This one-day event has something for the whole family. Here are a few of the past attractions.

• livestock competitions for best horses, sheep and cattle
• donkey rides
• alpacas
• horse and pony events
• music provided by the Band of the Fusiliers Association (Lancashire) and their Corps of Drums
• British Bulldogs, a youth gymnastics display team from Merseyside
• a display of side-saddle riding
• the Pennine Bernese Mountain Dogs
• a tractor pull
• a display by Rossendale Dog Training Club
• vintage cars, tractors and buses
• a steam organ
• military vehicles
• children's amusements
• bouncy castle
• funfair
• side stalls and stands

The show is in aid of a range of good causes.
