Deafblind

The physical disability and sensory impairment team also provides a service to meet the specific needs of people with a combined sight and hearing loss (deafblind), e.g. in the areas of communication, mobility, adapted equipment etc.

DeafBlind UK, working with Bury Library Service, are establishing a new social group which will meet in the Sensory Unit, Whitefield Library & Adult Learning Centre, Pinfold Lane, Whitefield M45 7NY.  The first meeting will be on 26th March 10.30-12 .00.

The meetings are aimed at people who are deafblind and for those who have progressive sight and hearing loss.  It is hoped that the group will meet regularly for social interaction and support and also in providing social activities, group outings, crafts and games.

Click on the downloads on the right for a poster of the event.  If you or anyone you know is interested in joining or volunteering for the group please contact Nikki on 07932 156 373 or nikki.spiers@deafblind.org.uk.
