Hearing impairment

Services for people who are deaf or hard of hearing

The disability team has a specialised social worker who will help the hearing impaired person and their family come to terms with hearing loss and technical officers who provide assistance for people with hearing problems e.g. hearing the doorbell, using the telephone, listening to television etc.

To request assistance / assessment from the team contact the disability services team.

Other sources of advice can be obtained from: Bury Society for Deaf and Hearing Impaired People; or Bury Deaf Children's Society. Contact details for both can be found on the Bury Deaf Society web site.
