Children's library service

Bury Council Libraries offer a wide range of services for Children and Young People. There is no age limit, anyone can join the library and borrow books - and it's free!

What do we offer children and young people for free?

• Books - borrow up to 8 on a child's card,
• Toy Library,
• Internet Access,
• Word Processing,
• Story times for under fives,
• Information,
• Homework Clubs,
• Study space.

If you have the Internet at home you can access some brilliant online resources from there with your library card:

• Encyclopaedia Britannica Online - junior and student editions,
• Oxford Art Online,
• Oxford Music Online,
• NewsUK - Newspapers and Magazines online
• Oxford English Dictionary,
• Oxford Reference.
