Brandlesholme Community Centre and Library

Brandlesholme Community Library opened in 2004 following consultation with local people which showed a need for a local library. Local people are actively involved in the library and work with staff as volunteer library assistants and activity leaders. As a result of funding from the Big Lottery the library was extended and refurbished in 2010 to become Brandlesholme Community Centre and Library. Now open 6 days a week there's an extended library with 6 public access PCs, a community office, a training room with an interactive whiteboard and a small kitchen.

We work closely in partnership with Brandlesholme Residents' Association and Brandlesholme Community Group and other agencies such as the local policing team who hold regular Police and Community Together meetings in the Centre.

Brandlesholme Youth Club (BRYC) is a partnership between Brandlesholme Community Group, Bury Library Service and Six Town Housing. It runs every Tuesday evening from 6.30 pm to 8 pm and aims to provide fun activities for local children aged between 8 and 14, including crafts, pool, computer games and outdoor activities.

One of the main aims of the community centre and library is to encourage people of all ages to get actively involved in their own community; this could mean organising events in and around the centre, helping in the centre or getting further training to assist a new or existing community group.  If you are interested in volunteering please contact the centre.

In addition to the set opening hours the Centre is normally open between 10 am and 5.30 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Please call in.
