South Cross Street Library

Situated in a small terraced house South Cross Street could quite possibly be described as quirky! With the library in the front room and free computer access in the kitchen (which is frequently used for cookery courses) you can find anything happening from children making art out of recycled materials to Asian ladies discussing the latest novel from Pakistan. Access to computers and the Internet is free of charge so booking in advance is advisable. Please telephone on the number below to make a booking. The library has books in English and Urdu for all ages as well as free video and DVD loans featuring both western and Bollywood films. The Library Service is also working closely with local people to help improve the local environment and to bring this multi-cultural community closer. One of the most visible signs of our work together is Connie's Garden, which was designed by local children as a tribute to the late Councillor Connie Fitzgerald. The garden represents the hope and potential of the young people who use the library.
