Ask a Librarian

This is a national service where you can submit your question 9-5pm Monday to Friday during which time it will be answered by a real librarian from anywhere in the UK via chat.  Outside these times you will need to submit your email address in order to receive a reply.  For questions relating to Bury Library Service only, such as opening times, book renewals etc. please use Contact Us displayed to the right of the page where you can get in touch with us by completing an online form or by telephone.


Radcliffe Library facilities

Radcliffe Library lends books, videos, DVDs and talking books. There are 11 computers, which are free to use, with Internet access and Microsoft Office. Access to computers and the Internet is free of charge so booking in advance is advisable. There are photocopying, scanning and Fax facilities. There are also facilities available for visually impaired customers. Toys are available to borrow from the Toy Library Service.

For adults

  • Coffee and Chat Mornings - Mondays and Fridays 10am - 12 noon
  • Knit and Natter Group every Thursday 1-3pm (experienced and beginners welcome)
  • Ancestry Club - every Friday 10am - 12 noon
  • Councillors' surgeries - First Saturday of each Monday 11am -12 noon
  • Reading Groups - please see link in the right hand panel
  • Online Job Help - by appointment

For children (term time only)

  • Toddlers' Story Time - Mondays 2pm - 3pm - except during school holidays
  • Rhyme Time - Tuesdays 10.30am -11.00am 
  • Homework Club - please see link in the right hand panel
  • Kool Kidz Fun Club - Fridays 4pm - 5pm
