Historic monuments

The Parks and Countryside Service is responsible for the maintenance of 10 war memorials sited on council land. These mostly mark those who died in the First and Second World Wars. The monuments and their surrounds are kept clean and tidy with any grass, shrubs and flower beds being maintained to an appropriate standard. Use the links above to view the inscriptions on the borough's memorials. If you have a comment, complaint or suggestion about how we can improve the provision of this service or if you have any historical information, photographs, etc. that may be of interest and could be included in these pages, please contact us.
