Waste collection changes - new service begins

Collection days and collection frequencies have changed for most households throughout the borough of Bury.  With your support the changes we are making will help boost recycling, reduce carbon emissions and save over £800,000 to protect other public services.  From now on we will empty your:  grey bin once every three weeks; green bin once every three weeks; blue bin once every three weeks; and brown bin once every two weeks.  Remember to always put your bins out by 7am on your collection day as collection times vary.  For more information about the changes go to the 'Waste collection changes' web page.

Tuesday 14 October ... Bin collections back on!

Bin collections on Tuesday 14 October will now go ahead as trade unions have suspended their planned strike action. The alternative collections arranged for around 25,000 homes on Sunday 12 October and Monday 13 October will not now take place.  We apologise to the affected residents for any inconvenience caused. If your household is due a collection on Tuesday 14 October you should now put your bins out by 7am on this day.  Collections will take place as originally scheduled.  To check which of your bins are due to be emptied go to the bin collection days web page or check your new collection calendar.
