Victims of crime often feel vulnerable and isolated which is why help and support is provided through local and national agencies. One of the agencies established locally is called the Victim Support.
Victim Support aims to provide support and advice to all victims and witnesses of crime. The branch supports anyone who is a victim of crime living in the borough. It also helps witnesses in the magistrates court, the youth courts and both Bolton and Manchester crown courts. This support is also available to friends and family who attend court with the witnesses.
Victim Support offers a free and confidential service to victims of crime and are independent of the Police and Courts.
The Witness Service is part of Victim Support and helps all witnesses and their family and friends when attending any of the Criminal Courts in England and Wales. The Witness Service helps witnesses in providing evidence..
