Organising events - a good practice guide

Within our communities many events are held each year. The document provided below has been put together to ensure that organisers of events recognise their responsibilities and to remind them of the steps they need to take to minimise the risks. The organising events guide is provided in the 'Downloads' section at the right-hand side of this web page.

How to apply to use Leisure Services land

If you want to organise an event on Council-owned land such as in a public park you can use our online form to apply for use. You will find a link to the 'Use of parks and spaces' application form on the right-hand side of this web page.

Organising a street party or a small community event?

The Department for Communities and Local Government produced a short guide for local residents on how to organise a street party or fete.

This includes a simple form to apply for a road closure for residential or neighbourhood street parties as well as a frequently asked questions checklist. You can use this form to tell us about your proposals for a street party or similar event. When you have completed the form please e-mail it to traffic@bury.gov.uk
