Getting to and around the borough is easy. The M6, M60, M66 and A56 network provides rapid road links to the town.
The Metrolink provides a convenient and efficient link from south and central Manchester, with stops throughout the south of the borough (Prestwich, Whitefield and Radcliffe) and terminates at the central interchange in Bury. At the weekends and throughout August you may enjoy a scenic and relaxing journey throughout the Irwell Valley on the East Lancashire Steam railway. Timetable available from Tourist Information centre or the East Lancashire Railway on 0161 764 7790.
