Community Asset Transfer - opportunities for community groups and communities

Community Asset Transfer (CAT) is the reassigning of responsibility for council owned buildings to community groups, charities and not for profit organisations. The buildings can be used for a variety of purposes and the council will consider anything that can be seen to benefit the local community or even a wider catchment area.   Six libraries scheduled for closure have been made available for CAT. A number of groups have completed expressions of interest for this process, they will now have time to prepare business cases for submission by November 17.   Although the application date has now passed you can find the toolkit below if you would like to know more.
