Advice and information centres

You can get advice and information about Council services from the following offices. No appointments are necessary and you can either speak to a member of staff or use public access computers.

To avoid having to send important documents through the post you can:

  • hand in completed application forms
  • provide evidence documents - which will be scanned and returned to you

All the offices are accessible for wheelchair users and hearing loops are available.


Town Hall, Knowsley Street, Bury, BL9 0SW.

Open: Monday to Friday 8.45am to 5.00pm.

Additional services:

  • Cash office available for all types of payments (open 9.00am to 4.30pm)
  • Public access computers with internet connections
  • Freephones to council services and StepChange debt charity
  • Staff on hand to help complete on line application forms
  • Disabled parking available on Knowsley Street, outside the Town Hall


Longfield Centre, Prestwich, M25 1AY.

Open: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm, Wednesday 9.00am to 1.00pm

  • Cash office for all types of payments
  • Disabled parking available on Longfield Centre car park
