Getting to and around the borough is easy. The M6, M60, M66 and A56 network provides rapid road links to the town.

The Metrolink provides a convenient link from south and central Manchester, with stops throughout the south of the borough (Prestwich, Whitefield and Radcliffe) and terminates at the central interchange in Bury. Pick up a timetable from the Tourist Information Centre or check the Metrolink website for tram times and the latest updates on services.

Several bus services operate from the interchange in Bury centre and provide transport links around the borough. An online journey planner is available.

At the weekends and throughout August you may enjoy a scenic and relaxing journey throughout the Irwell Valley on the East Lancashire Steam railway. Timetables are available from the Tourist Information centre or from the East Lancashire Railway website.
