How are we doing?

Bury Council's performance

Bury Council is making good progress in the way it delivers services and manages resources. Our overall service rating, as judged by our external inspectors the Audit Commission, is 3 out of 4 and Bury Council is judged to be performing well.

The Audit Commission reviews the council's position annually through a process known as the Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA). Further details of the results together with an explanation of the process can be found on the Council's CAA Pages.

Improving services, however, is not just about money. Our internal performance management framework keeps a close watch on service activity by monitoring key indicators every three months.

Training for councillors and council employees is increasing skills and confidence across the organisation whilst new technology, and working in partnership with other agencies, is helping to build capacity in support of our ambitions for the borough.
