Bury Sports Development Team work with a range of organisations to help deliver a number of sporting events. 

The International Youth Sport Festival

The International Youth Sports Festival is an annual event involving young people from Bury competing in sports competitions involving Angouleme and Tulle in France, Datong in China, Dueville in Italy, Errenteria in Spain, Lousada in Portugul and Schorndorf in Germany. Over four days competitors take part in a number of sports including basketball, swimming, football and rugby.  Each year a different country hosts the competition during the month fo May. Use the links on the left to read about previous competitions.

Champion's Challenge

The 'I love me' Champions Challenge in partnership with the Manchester United Foundation is a brand new competition involving the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester including Bury.  Participants compete in seven different sports which are:

  • badminton;
  • virtual Cycling;
  • football;
  • netball;
  • virtual rowing;
  • Rugby Union; and
  • table tennis.
