The Friends of Openshaw Park are a group of local people who have an input into what happens within the Park. The aim of the Group is to work towards a community-led park where the community takes ownership of various projects and activities.
They currently meet twice a year in the Vets Bowling Pavilion.
The Group are currently involved with:
- the Gardening Club;
- volunteering to work within the park; and
- projects for the park, for example, planning and planting a wildflower meadow, planning the annual ‘Party in the Park’ event.
Meetings
Meetings of the 'Friends Group' are usually organised twice yearly in June or July and November or December.
