Gardening
Close Park gardening club meets on Thursdays, from 1pm to 3pm.
Work will include carrying out a range of jobs and aims to give people without their own garden the opportunity to garden in their local park within a friendly and sociable atmosphere. Club members will help with landscaping ideas and planting, learn about gardening on a large scale and over a period of time gain satisfaction from a sense of ownership of what has been achieved.
No previous gardening knowledge is required, just a willingness to learn and enjoy being outdoors whilst creating something for all to enjoy. Everyone is welcome. Please wear suitable clothing. All equipment will be provided.

Crown green bowling
Close Park Bowling Club is a self managed club, with up to 100 members. They have several teams in the local league, including veterans and mixed.
