Bury Agricultural Show
Early July brings to Burrs Country Park the annual Agricultural Show organised by the Bury and District Agricultural Society. The traditional-style show is held on Burrs Showground.
This one-day event has something for the whole family with:
- livestock competitions for best horses, sheep and cattle;
- donkey rides;
- alpacas;
- horse and pony events;
- music provided by the Band of the Fusiliers Association (Lancashire) and their Corps of Drums;
- British Bulldogs, a youth gymnastics display team from Merseyside;
- a display of side-saddle riding;
- the Pennine Bernese Mountain Dogs;
- a tractor pull;
- a display by Rossendale Dog Training Club;
- vintage cars, tractors and buses;
- a steam organ;
- military vehicles;
- children’s amusements;
- bouncy castle;
- funfair; and
- side stalls and stands.
The show is in aid of a range of good causes.
