The Passage of Time

Until 16 October 2010.
Bury Art Gallery and Museum cares for a large collection of paintings and objects which have different storage and display needs. Inevitably, fragile objects deteriorate with the passage of time, even if they are being well cared for. This exhibition is a chance to see some items that have been recently conserved, shown alongside examples that are still awaiting their turn.
A private individual has funded the conservation of ‘A Gipsy Encampment’ by Leghe Suthers.

When Artists take Over

14 August to 26 September 2010.
For the first time in Bury Art Gallery’s history, the largest exhibition space is being completely handed over to practicing local and international contemporary artists for short experimental residencies. Installations will showcase works by Magnus Quaife, Sarah Sanders and Irene Barberis. These exhibitions and interventions are of short duration and unpredictable, so please ring the Gallery on 0161-253-5878 to check timings and availability.
