Reading groups in Bury libraries
Are you looking for new reading ideas, or are you longing to tell other people about the books you enjoy? Then expand your reading pleasure by joining one of our reading groups. It's a great way to meet other avid readers and discover authors you might not have thought of trying. The monthly meetings, which last about an hour, are very informal and relaxed. We provide a meeting place, sets of books (chosen from suggestions made by group members), refreshments and a staff member as your host. The rest is up to the group.
What group members say:
- "A brilliant experiment… enabled me to come across books I would not have discovered on my own. I am very grateful for the opportunity".
- "A wonderful way to meet like-minded people".
- "A chance to talk about the thing I love... books!".
- "I even planned my holidays so that I wouldn't miss a meeting".
- "I have read and enjoyed books I would not normally have chosen".
- "I am now more likely to read unfamiliar authors".
- "The group makes me read more widely and not just think about doing so".
