Theory Test Pro is a highly realistic online simulation of the UK's driving theory tests; the car test, the motorbike test and from August 2009 also the HGV and PCV tests. It contains:
- the entire official test question banks
- hazard perception video clips
- an online version of the Highway Code
All this material is licensed from the Driving Standards Agency (DSA), the people who set the official tests.
Access to Theory Test Pro is completely free for residents who call in to any of the Bury Council Libraries. Members of Bury Council Libraries can also access Theory Test Pro online, from outside the libraries, using their library card number.
Signing up to use Theory Test Pro
All Theory Test Pro users are required to register before taking any of the tests. There is no charge for this and the information is requested so that people can keep a record of their progress in training to pass the official test. You will need a valid email address. If you don't have one then library staff will help you to set up an address.
To register please go to the relevant Theory Test Pro Sign Up page and complete the online form and submit it. The form will look slightly different depending upon whether you sign up within the libraries or outside the libraries. If you sign up outside the libraries you will be asked to enter a valid library barcode number. This is to allow you access from outside the libraries in future when you login to Theory Test Pro.
Below is a helpsheet which descibes how to sign up to and use Theory Test Pro. Please note that these instructions explain how to sign up outside of Bury Libraries. However, you can follow these instructions also if you are signing up inside the libraries. The only difference being that you will not have to enter your library barcode if you sign up inside the libraries. This help sheet applies to the car test but gives a good idea also on how the HGV and PCV tests look.
Accessing Theory Test Pro within Bury Council Libraries
Once you've signed up with Theory Test Pro it can be accessed in the all Bury Council Libraries by going to the Theory Test Pro website. Click on the Sign In button and complete the details in the following form.
Accessing Theory Test Pro outside Bury Council Libraries
Theory Test Pro can be accessed from outside the libraries by going to the Theory Test Pro website then click on the Sign In button and complete the details in the following form including a valid library barcode number.
