You can now access newspaper and magazine articles online from within and outside of Bury MBC Libraries. The library service now subscribes to the NewsUK news service, from where you can access newspaper articles from The Sun and The Mirror to The Times and The Guardian, and magazine articles from titles such as the Economist, New Statesman, and The Spectator. Regional papers are also included.
NewsUK is a wonderful supplement to the newspaper and magazine collections which can be found within the libraries themselves, details of which are shown on our Newspapers and magazines page.
Using NewsUK within Bury MBC Libraries
If you are using the Internet within one of the libraries you can jump directly to the NewsUK search screen, type in the keywords of the article you're looking for, and then click on the search button. On screen help is available, but a member of staff will be on hand to offer assistance.
Using NewsUK outside Bury MBC Libraries
If you have Internet access at home, school, college or the office and you're a Bury MBC Libraries member, you can access the database by going to the NewsUK login page, and then type in your library card number. As above, you should now be at the search screen. If you need help please use the on screen help facility at the top right of the screen.
