The debate about the introduction of the "Single European Currency" or "Euro" is a good illustration of how European Union decisions can affect our daily lives. Bury Metro Libraries can help you find the answer to your questions about Europe. The Library Service is a member of the
Legislation
There are a number of good resources held, possibly the most useful is the Croner's Europe current awareness service, and the associated Croner's European Briefing a monthly newsletter on EU developments. The European Commission publications, The Consolidated Texts of Community Legislation and The Week in Europe, also provide information on recent developments.
Programmes
The European Commission frequently publishes a range of documents detailing progress on existing EU programmes and possible future programmes. We keep many such publications within the European Collection of Reference and information Services.
Contacts
There are several resources available, offering contact information. These include:
- Vacher's European Companion
- European Union Information Directory
- Directory of Industrial and Trade Associations
- The European Union Public Affairs Directory
