Castle Sport and Leisure Library

In April 2004 an innovative partnership between Bury Metro Libraries and Leisure Services resulted in the opening of the Castle Sport & Leisure Library. Housed in a newly built section of Castle Leisure Centre in Bury, the Library is open the same hours as the centre allowing users the opportunity to access the new library when they visit to work out, swim or simply wait for friends and relatives. The library is staffed for a part of every day and at other times borrowers are able to use Bury's first self-service library terminal

The Library has a fantastic range of books, videos/DVDs (loan charge applies) on sport for all ages as well as a great range of recreational reading. There are three public access computers to use, free of charge, so whatever your idea of exercise Castle has enough to get anyone's imagination fit! On each computer there is the full Microsoft Office suite of applications including Word for Windows, Access for databases, Excel spreadsheets etc. Access to computers and the Internet is free of charge so booking in advance is advisable. The Library is open whenever the leisure centre is open for browsing and borrowing using the self-issue system for which you must have a Bury Metro Library card.

Note: the library can be used at other times whilst the centre is open on a self-service basis.
