BBC RAW
BBC RaW – Read more, write better with the BBC is a three-year campaign to improve the nation’s literacy skills through entertainment (launched in October 2005).The main themes are:
- Reading for pleasure kick-started by World Book Day on 2 March 2006
- Sport during summer sporting activities
- From September, a focus on families

Quick Reads
Quick Reads are short, fast paced books written by some of the most well-known authors and figures in the UK. There were 24 exciting titles launched in 2006. It doesn’t matter if you find reading difficult or boring because Quick Reads are for you - even if you have never picked up a book before.
The Quick Read collections are located at Prestwich and Bury Central Library but can be requested from any library. For a full list of titles available please visit the Quick Reads website.
