Childcare voucher scheme

As part of it's work-life balance initiative, Bury Council, in conjunction with Busy Bees, has introduced for employees, a system whereby part of their salary can be exchanged for childcare vouchers.

These vouchers are exempt from National Insurance contributions and therefore represent a saving for employees who use them to purchase childcare. It is estimated that employees can save up to a months childcare costs over 12 months.

Employees are not restricted in the type of childcare they choose, the vouchers can be used over a wide range of childcare provision with no restriction on location.
