Support at home overview.

The new Support at Home Service was launched on the 1st April 2008. Its aim is to provide support to people over the age of 60, enabling them to continue living in their own home.

The service will provide a daily visit or telephone call from one of our highly trained support staff, to make sure residents are ok. They will help residents to manage their day to day tasks and offer a ‘listening ear’ to talk through any worries or problems they may have.

In addition to this, a CareLink alarm unit will also be provided, enabling clients to request help 24/7 in the event of an emergency.

The new service will be delivered by the existing warden staff team. The staff will now be known as Home Support Workers and will deliver the support service to existing sheltered housing service users as well as over 160 people in the wider community.
