Introduction
The 2002 Homelessness Act says that all housing authorities must review :
- The extent of homelessness in their area
- The local services and resources available to prevent homelessness, provide homeless people with accommodation and key them into support services if necessary.
The results of this review must then be used to inform a local Homelessness Strategy developed by the council and its partners and in consultation with all stakeholders.
Bury's Homelessness Strategy, published July 2003, contains the review's key findings and messages and the complete document and/or a summary can be obtained by contacting the Homelessness Prevention Team.
