The Disability Team, which is part of Social Services, can help you gain greater independence around your home. This can include the loan of equipment to carry out everyday activities like washing or cooking or help you move to a more suitable home that has been adapted for a disabled person. This is often a better option than trying to adapt your current home.
If this is not practical or suitable we may be able to adapt your current home. This will depend on your circumstances and the type of property you are in at present.
In order for us to help you gain independence in your home we will usually arrange for someone from the Disability Team to carry out an assessment visit at your home to discuss what you need.
